TIGERS TOPPLE ST. AMBROSE IN CCAC TOURNAMENT FIRST ROUND

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene University men's & women's tennis teams took care of St. Ambrose in the CCAC Tournament First Round Monday afternoon at the Snowbarger Athletic Complex. The ONU women toppled the Fighting Bees 4-2 while the Tiger men blanked SAU 4-0.

Men: Olivet Nazarene 4, St. Ambrose 0

The Tigers swept the Fighting Bees out of Snowbarger in dominant fashion. ONU collected the doubles point thanks to wins from Davi Toledo and Hector Romero at the No. 2 match and Chatton Haws and Andres Viedma Diaz at No. 3. Toledo picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles before Haws dominated the No. 3 match 6-0, 6-0. Paul Saleh secured the ONU victory with a 6-0, 6-0 straight-set win at the No. 6 match.

Women: Olivet Nazarene 4, St. Ambrose 2

ONU dropped just three sets across all of the doubles and singles matches that they played in. After the Tigers swept a pair of doubles matches by scores of 6-0 to collect the doubles point, Chieh-Yu Chen was flawless in the top singles match to pick up the 6-0, 6-0 straight-set victory. Natasha Nieto was victorious 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 singles and Hailey Haws picked up the 6-0. 6-1 win at No. 3 singles to lock down the ONU victory.

Both Tiger teams will now travel to Holy Cross for the CCAC Tournament Semifinals Wednesday afternoon in Notre Dame, Ind.
