TIGERS CLAIM WIN NO. 10 ON THE SEASON

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The No. 16 Olivet Nazarene University men's soccer team held off the Trinity International Trojans for a 2-1 win Saturday evening at Snowbarger Athletic Complex. Konstantin Papanikolaou tallied a goal and an assist in the victory.

Fabio Hasler broke open the scoring in the 23rd minute of play. Papanikolaou's pass led the Switzerland native across the 18-yard box. The right wing-back struck the ball with his weaker left foot to beat the TIU netminder to his far post.

TIU had the response seven minutes later. Trenton Garside cleaned up a miss-clearance off Zachary Mawdsley crossing pass to beat Mike Giannotta from inside the six-yard box. Trinity's goal was scored off their only shot on goal for the first half.

ONU regained the lead just before half. Papanikolaou broke the back line for a one-on-one opportunity with the Trojan goalkeeper. The Austrian native was brought down and the Tigers were rewarded with a penalty kick opportunity. The attacking midfielder sent the keeper the wrong way to bring the score to 2-1.

Halftime: Olivet Nazarene 2, Trinity International 1
