ONU CONCLUDES HOMESTAND WITH A 4-3 OVER HUNTINGTON

PARK FOREST, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene University men's tennis team concluded their homestand taking on the Foresters of Huntington University inside the Park Forest Tennis Club on Saturday afternoon.  The Tigers earned a 4-3 victory over Huntington. 

 

The Tigers started out very strong in doubles play as the teams of Francisco Faria / Jonathan Hentschel and Carlo Cota Vargas / Brian Victoria Ayala won their matches, 6-3.  The Tigers opened the scoring with that elusive first point in doubles play. 

 

Faria then put the Tigers up, 2-0 with a straight-sets win in singles, 6-1 and 6-0.  Huntington then knotted up the score at two after they took the singles two and three matches.  Victoria Ayala and Hentschel then took down their opponents in straight sets to make the score 4-2. 

 

The Tigers dropped the final match but still won the duel over Huntington, 4-3.

WHAT'S NEXT?

The Tigers travel down south for four matches with the first being Spring Hill College.  The first service is set for Monday, March 7th at 1 p.m. CST.
