ANTKOVIAK'S NATIONAL TITLE HIGHLIGHTS ONU'S STELLAR WEEK AT NAIA CHAMPIONSHIPS
MARION, Ind. – The Olivet Nazarene University men's and women's track & field teams had an incredible week at the 2023 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, earning five individual All-American finishes, two All-American relays, and an NAIA National Champion. The men totaled 11 points to place 30th while the women racked up 29 points to place 10th as a team.
Hannah Antkoviak concluded her stellar sophomore season as a national champion, winning the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 56.71. This came just 30 minutes after she earned an All-American finish in the 100-meter hurdles, placing third at 13.61. Vince Giuliano earned his first individual All-American honor with a fourth-place finish in the 200-meter dash at 20.93. Kiara Carter placed seventh in the 400-meter dash with an All-American time of 56.37. Kayla Mikottis hit an All-American throw of 45.73 meters to place fourth in the discus.
Andrew Hudson, Giuliano, Calvin Thomas, and Jalen Dunnigan were All-Americans in the 4x100-meter relay, placing third and setting a new school record time of 40.33. Carsyn Burdine, Tera Miller, Carter, and Antkoviak earned an All-American finish in the 4x400-meter relay, placing third with a season-best time of 3:45.63.

Wednesday, May 24
ONU got off to a record-breaking start at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Andrew Hudson, Vince Giuliano, Calvin Thomas, and Jalen Dunnigan combined to break the school record in the men's 4x100-meter relay. Their time of 40.40 broke the previous mark of 40.77 set in 2015 and was good for fourth place, winning their heat and advancing to Friday's final. Hannah Antkoviak then continued her dominance in the 400-meter hurdles, cruising into the finals as the number-one seed with a prelim-best time of 58.35.
The Tigers saw improvements across the board. The men's 4x800-meter relay, who came into the meet ranked 24th, ran a season-best time of 7:43.95 to finish 16th. Jacey Schickel improved on her 19th ranking in the 10000-meter run with a 14th-place finish at 37:38.49. Brody Vollrath entered nationals ranked 24th in the javelin, and finished the day in 20th with a mark of 55.21 meters. Lastly, Courtney Hall finished out her collegiate career in 21st place in the hammer with a throw of 48.75 meters. She came in ranked 29th in the NAIA.

Thursday, May 25
Hannah Antkoviak got the second day out to a quick start by winning her heat of the 100-meter hurdles in 13.64, sending her to Saturday's finals in the event. She then won another heat after teaming up with Carsyn Burdine, Tera Miller, and Kiara Carter in the 4x400-meter relay, finishing with a time of 3:47.24 to punch their ticket to Saturday's finals. Carter also advanced to the finals in the 400-meter dash with a time of 56.07. Vince Giuliano barely missed out on the finals in the 400-meter dash, finishing 11th in prelims at 48.61.
The Tigers continued to see improvements in the field events. Daniel DeRamus, who entered nationals ranked 31st in the discus, pulled out a 45.39m throw to place 22nd in the event. Lana Krohe then improved on her own 31st-place ranking in the shot put by finishing 24th with a top throw of 12.70 meters.

Friday, May 26
A national champion was crowned for ONU when Hannah Antkoviak crossed the finish line first in the 400-meter hurdles, improving on her NAIA record time at 56.71. This came just 30 minutes after earned an All-American finish in the 100-meter hurdles, placing third with a time of 13.61. Kiara Carter finished as an All-American, as well, placing seventh in the 400-meter dash at 56.71. The duo then combined with Carsyn Burdine and Tera Miller for an All-American finish in the 4x400-meter relay, clocking in a season-best time of 3:45.63 to place third overall.
Vince Giuliano, an ONU school record holder in three separate events, earned his first individual All-American honor with a fourth-place finish in the 200-meter dash. He crossed the finish line at 20.93. Giuliano teamed up with Andrew Hudson, Calvin Thomas, and Jalen Dunnigan to place third in the 4x100-meter relay with a school-record time of 40.33.
Kayla Mikottis finished the season as an All-American, hitting a top throw of 45.73 meters to place fourth overall in the discus. Sarah Schoonmaker placed 28th in the event at 40.16 meters. Noah Sears cleared 4.70 meters to place 10th in the pole vault.
