ROMO, TIGERS FINISH RUNNER-UP AT CCAC CHAMPIONSHIPS

VALPARAISO, Ind. – Enrique Romo finished second overall to lead the Olivet Nazarene University men's cross country team to a runner-up finish at the CCAC Championships competed at Sunset Hills Park on Saturday.

Romo crossed the line with a personal-best time of 25:05.97 to earn the runner-up placement, only eight seconds back of individual winner Isaac Sytsma from Saint Xavier.

Romo was one of six Tigers to earn all-conference honors at the CCAC Championships. Taylor Vallangeon and Flynn Prather both earned top-10 finishes, with Vallangeon placing seventh at 25:32.85 and Prather taking 10th at 25:49.18. Nick Janson was right behind Prather, finishing in 25:54.20 to place 11th.

David Olmos rounded out the scoring for ONU with a 14th-place finish, crossing the line at 25:58.54. Joey Puccillo notched the Tigers' sixth all-conference placement in 15th at 26:06.28. Peyton Hobson earned a top-20 finish, coming in 20th at 26:26.34.

ONU tallied 44 points to earn the runner-up finish, just eight points shy of conference champion St. Francis (Ill.) with 36 points.
