CATAFORT - - SILVA LED THE TIGERS AT THE BATTLE AT BLACKTHORN
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – After a first-place finish, last weekend, at the ONU Bill Johnson Fall Invitational, the Olivet Nazarene University women's golf team competed in the Bethel College (Ind.) Battle at Blackthorn on Friday and Saturday. The Tigers settled for a third-place finish as a team.
After one day of action, the Tigers stood in third place behind host Bethel and Taylor. Margaux Catafort- -Silva led the Tigers after the first round, carding a -1 (71). Catafort - - Silva was the lone individual to shoot under par in the first round. Following Margaux was Kiana Krahulik, who finished the round with a score of +7 (79) and stood in tied for eighth. Emily Hayhurst followed Krahulik with a score of +9 (81) and Alexandria Jones had a score of +10 (82). Liz Miller rounded out the top-20 for the Tigers with a score of +13 (85).
In day two, despite Catafort- - Silva shooting a 75, won the individual title with an overall score of +2. Krahulik followed Margaux, finishing in 11th place, carding a final round 81. Liz Miller moved up six spots and finished in 14th place after carding a final round 79, which is a six-stroke improvement from her first round 85. Jones rounded out the Tigers in the top-20 and stood in tied for 18th.
