SPRING SEASON CARRIES ON AT PURGATORY INVITATIONAL

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. – Despite inclement weather, the Olivet Nazarene University men's and women's golf teams continued their spring seasons at the Purgatory Intercollegiate this weekend.

Women's results

Alexandria Jones led the way for the Tigers with an 11-over 83 to tie for 12th. Mara Bakke and Faith Dalton both handed in 91s to share 26th place while Emily Hayhurst and Lydia Steier each carded a 93 to tie for 34th place.

The Tigers shot a collective 358, a seven-shot improvement from a week ago, to place seventh at the nine-team tournament. St. Thomas (Fla.) took home the team crown with a score of 320.

Men's results

A mere six strokes separated the five Tigers on the men's side. Caleb Stinespring was the top scorer for ONU, firing a three-over 76 to tie for 11th place. Jack Rimington cracked the top-30 with a 29th-place finish at 79. Jack Busch and Lorenzo Mariotti both carded an 80 to share 35th place. Jordan Evans rounded out the scoring with a 38th-place finish.

The ONU men finished in sixth place out of 13 teams with a 314, one stroke out of fifth place. Taylor took the men's title with a 294.

WHAT'S NEXT?

The ONU women will head to the Grace Invite on Wednesday, April 5 while the men will take on St. Francis (Ill.) on Monday, April 10.
