THREE WINS NET ONU’S VARGAS WEEKLY CCAC MEN’S TENNIS RECOGNITION
CHICAGO, Ill. – Claiming three victories during the seven-day period ending March 19, Olivet Nazarene University's Carlo Cota Vargas (Morelia, Mexico) has been named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week, the league office announced on Wednesday.
Vargas won both of his singles matches in straight sets on Friday playing in the No. 1 position. He opened with a 6-1, 7-5 victory against Missouri Baptist University and followed that with a 7-6, 7-5 nod over Midland University (Neb.).
The junior also won 6-4 at No. 2 doubles with Carlos Gomez in the Missouri Baptist match.
Vargas finished the week 3-1 despite the Tigers dropping both matches. They sit at 1-4 on the campaign.
