TIGERS HOLD ON TO WIN 1-0 OVER HOLY CROSS AS BAHR RECORDS 300th CAREER WIN

TIGERS HOLD ON TO WIN 1-0 OVER HOLY CROSS AS BAHR RECORDS 300th CAREER WIN

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Olivet Nazarene University women's soccer team concluded their regular-season road schedule with a 1-0 result against the Holy Cross College Saints in a midweek afternoon contest. Bill Bahr recorded his 300th career win with the victory.

Holy Cross had the better of the play to start the game, winning six corner kicks and three shot attempts to Olivet Nazarene's zero in both categories. Samantha Tuuk took a spill 15 minutes in due to field conditions in the penalty area. Both sides agreed to move to an adjacent pitch to resume play. The change in scenery jump-started the Tiger offense as Katie Knutte tried to nod in a headed effort from a tight angle but just flashed across the face of the goal. Susanna Lindquist broke the Saint's backline and her saved effort spun off the far side left post. Annabel Murley and Teagon Albert had opportunities as well but nothing would find its way over the goal line. The match remained scoreless at the break.

Halftime: Olivet Nazarene 0, Holy Cross 0

Directly out of the locker room, ONU pursued the breakthrough goal. Teagon Albert cut inside the Saint's penalty area and drew the foul. Albert stepped up and guided the ball into the lower right corner to take the lead five minutes into the second half. Sloppy conditions made it difficult for either team to gain any sort of momentum. In the waning minutes of the match, Holy Cross thought they had found a late equalizer with a few chances late. Scrappy defensive plays and clearances off the line preserved Samantha Tuuk's fourth shutout of the season.
