ONU LOSES DUALS AT CARDINAL STRITCH

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Olivet Nazarene University men's and women's tennis teams lost duals at Cardinal Stritch on Saturday. Both squads fell 4-0.

Women: Cardinal Stritch 4, Olivet Nazarene 0

Nirva Patel and Natasha Nieto got the match started strong with a super tiebreaker 13-11 win in the top doubles match. But the Wolves were able to take the doubles point after winning the No. 2 and No. 3 matches.

The Tigers were tightly contesting a pair of singles matches that ultimately went unfinished. Audrey Zoeteman was leading 2-1 in the No. 4 match and Chieh-Yu Chen was leading 5-2 in the second set before they were called off due to the match being clinched.

Men: Cardinal Stritch 4, Olivet Nazarene 0

The Tigers came close to taking the doubles point in the men's match. Davi Toledo and Hector Romero took it 10 sets in the top doubles match while Carlos Gomez and Carlo Cota Vargas did the same in the No. 2 match. Unfortunately, neither duo was able to pick up a win.

ONU was unable to pick up any wins in the singles matches. Shaun Choubey was leading Cardinal Stritch's Vitali 2-1 in the No. 4 match, but went unfinished.

The Tigers will head to Holy Cross for duals against the Saints on Tuesday, April 11.
