TIGERS BATTLE BUT COME UP SHORT AGAINST FORESTERS

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene University women's tennis team battled it out against the Huntington Forresters in one of the closest matches of the season. The Tigers came close to securing the win but ultimately fell short 4-3 to Huntington.

Huntington 4, Olivet Nazarene 3

The Tigers got out to a hot start, claiming the top three singles matches. Nirva Patel cruised to a 7-5, 7-5 victory in the top singles match, Natasha Nieto was victorious in a 6-1, 4-6, 10-8, third-set super tiebreaker in the No. 2 match, and Chieh-Yu Chen made quick work of the No. 3 match with a 6-2, 6-3 win.

However, the Tigers couldn't pick up any wins in the final three singles matches to claim the match. Patel and Nieto teamed up to take the 6-3 win in the top doubles match, but that wasn't enough as the Forresters took the next two to claim the doubles point.
