
O’NEAL SECURES CCAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK AWARD
CHICAGO, Ill. – Olivet Nazarene University's Bett O'Neal laid claim to the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week award, as the conference announced its weekly honors on Tuesday morning.
O'Neal used eight steals over two games to claim CCAC Defensive Player of the Week honors. She also had three rebounds, five assists and scored at a 12.0 points-per-game clip.
Six of the thefts came in a 92-63 victory over St. Ambrose University last Wednesday. She also collected three assists, two rebounds and nine points in that win.
The senior guard created two more turnovers in a 107-70 decision over Judson University on Saturday, where she also totaled 15 points, two assists, two steals and one rebound.
O'Neal has now authored multiple steals in 15 of 19 contests this season and ranks second in the league in that category at 3.1 thefts per game.
Olivet Nazarene's two wins keep the Tigers in a tie for first place in the league with Governors State University. ONU is 13-7 overall and 10-2 in CCAC matchups.
