FREDIN, NICHOLAS NAB CCAC WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL WEEKLY AWARDS

CHICAGO, Ill. – The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced on Tuesday that Olivet Nazarene University's Halle Nicholas and Analiese Fredin have been named Women's Volleyball Players of the Week for the seven-day period from Sept. 2-8.

Nicholas accepted the CCAC Attacker of the Week award after hitting .301 and averaging 3.68 kills per set over five matches. The senior outside hitter also averaged 1.58 digs per set and totaled 40 receptions, six blocks and seven service aces over her 19 sets played. Six of the aces came in a league win versus Governors State University on Wednesday.

Nicholas produced no less than 11 kills in each of her matches highlighted by her 18 in a four-set loss to Indiana Tech on Friday. She also had 15 kills versus Governors State and a .400 attack percentage in a three-set win over Lourdes University (Ohio) on Saturday.

Fredin set up Nicholas among other Tiger players to earn CCAC Setter of the Week recognition. The sophomore netted at least 32 assists in three of her five matches during the week, topped by her 40 assists in the conference win over Governors State.  She had another 37 opposite Indiana Tech.

The Indiana Tech and Indiana Southeast matches on Friday also netted Fredin a pair of double-doubles. She had 10 digs to go along with the 37 assists versus Indiana Tech and 29 assists and 12 digs in a five-set loss to Indiana Southeast. 

Fredin also averaged 2.05 digs per set and put up seven service aces and seven blocks on the week.
