NO. 5 TIGERS COMPETED WELL AT THE DON KIMBLE INVITE

KENTWOOD, Mich. – The No. 5 Olivet Nazarene University men's swim and dive team competed in the Don Kimble Invite hosted by NCAA Division II Davenport University on Friday, November 19 through Sunday, November 22.  The Tigers finished in fourth out of five teams in this competitive field which included NCAA D2 opponents Davenport, Saginaw Valley State, Wayne State, and NAIA school Aquinas College.

The Tigers saw success from Connor Harrison early on in the meet as took fourth place in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:54.67.  Christian Mikrut also raced well in the 200-yard butterfly and finished on top in the "B" final finishing with a time of 1:55.40. In the next race, Timothy Braun finished first in the "B" final in the 200-yard freestyle clocking a time of 1:45.27.  A couple of events later, Nicholas Klenner swam a great race in the 200-yard backstroke finishing in fourth place with a time of 1:52.67.  In the next event, Mikrut won the "B" final once again, but this time in the 100-yard butterfly.  Mikrut clocked in at 51.18.  Peter Adams then finished in fifth place in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:08.15.

In other results, Kyle Lovell broke the ONU school record for the 1m dive with a score of 273.15.  The prior record holder was Tyler Timmer, who had the record since 2016. 

This meet, combined, from the men's and women's side, saw six A-Cut Standards, 23 B-Cut Standards, and 38 personal bests.

The Tigers swim in the Wheaton College Invitational on Friday, December 3rd and Saturday, December 4th.  Friday's action will start at 9:30 a.m. and Saturday starts at 10 a.m.
