TIGERS SEE SOLID PERFORMANCES AND A SCHOOL RECORD BROKEN AT THE 2022 NAIA OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS
GULF SHORES, Ala. – The Olivet Nazarene University men's outdoor track and field team competed in the 2022 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium on Wednesday through Friday.
In Wednesday's action, the team of Vince Giuliano, Jalen Dunnigan, Andrew Hudson, and Esau Haynes came up short in qualifying for the finals of the 4x100 meter relay. The team finished 10th overall and 2nd in their heat with a time of 41.21. Later, on the track, Giuliano and Hudson ran in the 200-meter dash prelims. Both Tiger runners did not qualify for finals as Giuliano had a final time of 21.59, finishing in 15th overall, while Hudson clocked a time of 21.64, finishing in 17th place.
Thursday's action for the men's team started in the 4x800 meter relay as the team of Erik Richter, Max Grant, Hayden Colclasure, and Ethan Hodel placed 12th in the prelims with a time of 7:40.57. That time is good for a new school record and is a five second improvement from earlier in the year. Later, on the track, Giuliano raced in the 100-meter dash prelims and finished with a time of 10.74 seconds and in 22nd place.
In the third and final day of action, the Tigers only saw one person compete and that was in the men's pole vault with Noah Sears. The newly recognized CoSIDA Academic All-District selection did not clear a height in the event.
The Tigers saw good performances and a school record broken in the three-day event in 2022 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships.
