ONU DOWNS ST. FRANCIS 4-2 IN PENULTIMATE REGULAR-SEASON MATCH
LOCKPORT, Ill. – In their second to last match of the regular season, the Olivet Nazarene University women's tennis team triumphed 4-2 over St. Francis (Ill.) Saturday afternoon at Challenge Fitness.
The Tigers again locked up the doubles point in Saturday's win. Chieh-Yu Chen and Natasha Nieto teamed up for a 6-4 win in the top match, while Savannah Amatyleon and Rafaela Luna secured the point with a 6-2 victory in the No. 2 match.
Luna was victorious in straight sets in her singles match, winning 6-3, 6-2 in the No. 3 match. Jori Lambert secured a straight-set win of her own with a 6-3, 6-0 victory at No. 5 singles. Ellym Gomez tacked down the ONU win with a forfeit victory in the No. 6 match.
ONU will compete in its final match of the regular season against Judson Tuesday afternoon at the Crystal Lake Tennis Club.
