GUSTAFSON TABBED AS CCAC PITCHER OF THE WEEK

CHICAGO, Ill. - Olivet Nazarene University baseball's Aren Gustafson has been awarded the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Pitcher of the Week for his April 27 performance against St. Ambrose the league announced Tuesday.

Gustafson used seven innings of shutout baseball to capture CCAC Pitcher of the Week accolades.  The senior produced the effort in a 1-0 victory over second-place St. Ambrose University last Wednesday when he allowed only three hits and struck out three batters against just one walk. The win lifted ONU to clinching the one seed in the conference tournament.

For the season, The Rockton, Ill. native is 6-4 with a 2.92 earned run average and sits in second on the team with 71 innings pitched. In league affairs, he boasts a 1.67 ERA.

Olivet Nazarene wrapped up the CCAC regular-season title with its 3-1 week.  The Tigers finished 27-3 in league play and are 34-15 overall.


WHAT'S NEXT

The Tigers enter the CCAC Tournament as the number one overall seed. They are matched up with the eighth-seeded Titans of IU-South Bend. That contest is slated to begin Thursday, May 5 at 7 p.m. CST with Duly Health and Care Field in Joliet, Ill. as the sight for all of the conference postseason games.
