WOMEN’S GOLF FINISHES FIFTH AT BATTLE AT BLACKTHORN

SOUTH BEND, Ind. –  The Olivet Nazarene University women's golf team placed fifth at the two-day Battle at Blackthorn played at Blackthorn Golf Club Friday and Saturday.

Alexandria Jones was the top Tiger finisher, firing ONU's best round of the tournament with a 77 on Friday before carding an 84 Saturday to lead the squad with a 161. Mara Bakke was one shot behind her teammate, shooting rounds of 82 and 80 for a 162.

Lizzie Howard (84-86) finished with a 170, Faith Dalton (95-92) shot a 187, and Mya Jones (89-100) finished with a 189 for ONU.

The team fired rounds of 332 and 342 for a 674 to finish fifth in the eight-team tournament. Taylor won the event with identical 310s for a winning score of 620.

The Tigers will take on their final meet of the fall season with two-day Harbor Shores Tournament on Oct. 16-17 in Benton Harbor, Mich.
