THREE TIGERS FINISH INSIDE THE TOP 10 AT TRI-STATE INVITATIONAL

ASBURY, Iowa – The Olivet Nazarene University women's golf team placed three inside the top 10 at the Tri-State Invitational at The Meadows Golf Course in Asbury, Iowa, Sunday and Monday.

Mara Bakke fired a pair of under-90 rounds to tie for fourth, while Alexandria Jones and Lizzie Howard both totaled 187 to both finish in a tie for ninth place. This helped ONU notch a third-place finish at the five-team event.

Bakke, a sophomore from Sun Prairie, Wis., led ONU with an 87-89 to finish at 176. Jones was consistent across the two-day tournament, leading off with a 93 and finishing with a 94, while Howard knocked nine strokes off her second round to reach 187.

Faith Dalton rounded out the scoring for the Tigers with a big second-round improvement, taking 14 strokes off her second round to net 17th place. Alexa Scalise placed 21st at the Tri-State Invitational.

The Tigers put together rounds of 385 and 365 for a 750 and a third-place finish. Wisconsin-Platteville won the tournament with a final tally of 718.

The Tigers will next compete in the two-day Battle at Blackthorn on Sept. 29-30 at the Blackthorn Golf Club in Mishawaka, Ind.
