SIGNORINI LEADS TIGERS AT BATTLE AT BLACKTHORN

SOUTH BEND, Ind. –  Playing against some of the toughest teams in the Midwest, the Olivet Nazarene University men's golf team placed fifth at the two-day Battle at Blackthorn played at Blackthorn Golf Club Friday and Saturday.

Brando Signorini continued his strong start to his collegiate career by leading ONU at the Battle at Blackthorn, firing back-to-back rounds of 72 for a 144. Lorenzo Mariotti was five strokes behind Signorini with a 77-72 to finish with a 149.

Jack Busch (75-79) finished with a 154, Jack Rimington (77-78) shot a 155, and Jordan Evans (80-81) finished with a 161 for ONU.

The team fired identical rounds of 301 for a 602 to finish fifth in the 13-team tournament. Bethel (Ind.) won the event with 295-280 for a winning score of 620.

The Tigers will take on their final meet of the fall season with the two-day Harbor Shores Tournament on Oct. 16-17 in Benton Harbor, Mich.
