MARIOTTI LEADS ONU AT SEASON-OPENING HERITAGE HILLS TOURNAMENT
SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. – Lorenzo Mariotti opened the Olivet Nazarene University men's golf spring season with a top-25 finish at the three-day Heritage Hill Collegiate last weekend at the Heritage Hill Golf Course.
The Italian sophomore carded an even 72 in the tournament's second round, sandwiched between a pair of 78's in the opening and closing rounds to finish at 228, earning a tie for 22nd place. Jack Busch also recorded an even par in Heritage Hill's second round to finish with a 232 and tie for 32nd.
Jordan Evans (80-76-82) finished with a 238, Hunter Trainor (86-80-86) shot a 252, and Jack Rimington (78-87-91) tabbed a 256 for ONU.
The team finished with a 942 to place 11th at the tournament, with their best round coming Friday with a 300 score on day two. Lawrence Tech took down the event with a winning score of 872.
The Tigers will return to their home course of Kankakee Elks to host the Spring Tiger Invite Friday and Saturday in St. Anne, Ill.
