RV TIGERS CRUISED PAST THE LYNX IN CCAC OPENER

LINCOLN, Ill. – The RV Olivet Nazarene University men's basketball team earned a 78-45, victory over the Lincoln College Lynx at the Lincoln Center on Wednesday night.

 

Alex Gross and Barik Olden marked the first points for the Tigers as they led early, 4-0.  After the Lynx made a three, Cade Chitty sparked a 12-0 run to make the score 16-3.  The Tigers kept up the pace the duration of the first half.  The Tigers saw production from Griffin Andricks and Jake Brown as well as Caleb Swearingen as ONU led 32-15 with about three minutes left in the half.  Gross and Olden scored the final points of the half for the Tigers as they took a 19-point lead going into the half.

Gross, Olden, and Chitty combined for the first eight ONU points in the second half.  ONU led, 44-22, early in the second half.  With under eight minutes left, Olden scored the next eight points of the game, which extended the Tiger lead to 62-33. 

 

Olden, Gross, and Andricks produced the offense ,down the stretch, as the Tigers allowed the fewest points in a game since 2015, as they downed the Lynx, 78-45.
