SEASON ENDS AT NAIA MEN’S GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS

DALTON, Ga. – In a season where the team won its first-ever title in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference, the Olivet Nazarene University men's golf team wrapped its historic year at the 2024 NAIA Championships played at the Dalton Golf and Country Club last week

The top 30 teams in the country battled for a National Title last week, with host school Dalton State ultimately prevailing in the four-round tournament that ended Friday. The Roadrunners shot an 1182 (295-298-297-292) to claim the red banner by one stroke over Texas Wesleyan (1183). Keiser rounded out the top three at 1192.

ONU was led by freshman Chris Brown in the tournament's opening round, shooting the team's best round of 5-over 77 Tuesday. Lorenzo Mariotti and Jordan Evans both carded 81s Tuesday, followed by Hunter Trainor's 83 to keep ONU in the hunt to make the cut.

However, a sluggish round Wednesday kept the Tigers out of the top 15 when the field was cut. Jack Busch, who led ONU to their first CCAC title after winning individual medalist honors at the conference championships, and Jack Rimington both competed at their first NAIA Championship, as well.
