WOMEN’S GOLF OPENS UP SEASON AT PLAYERS CLUB INVITATIONAL

YORKTOWN, Ind. – The Olivet Nazarene University women's golf team opened up their 2023-24 campaign at the Players Club Invitational at the Players Club Golf Course hosted by Taylor University this weekend.

The Tigers shot a 365 on day one and turned around with a 27-stroke improvement in the second round to finish with a 703. This score placed them ninth in the 11-team team tournament. The University of Northwestern Ohio was the top team with a score of 303-315 (618) over the two-round tournament.

All fi Tigers took strokes off their second rounds. Sophomore Mara Bakke led the way for the Tigers at the Players Club Invitational. The Sun Prairie, Wisc., native fired an 86 on Friday before taking a stroke off her game Saturday with an 85 to finish with a 191.

Alexandria Jones carded a nine-stroke improvement for a 173 (91-82), while Lizzie Howard (96-83) and Faith Dalton (92-88) rounded out the overall team score. Freshman Mya Jones (101-96) also competed for the Tigers.

The Tigers will take the week off before heading to the two-day Fyre Lake Tournament in Sherrard, Ill. The two-day tournament is set to begin on Monday, Sept. 18.
