ETHAN UNDERWOOD GATHERS SECOND-STRAIGHT NAIA ALL-AMERICA HONORS
KANSAS CITY – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced on Tuesday its selections for its All-America teams. For the second-straight season, Olivet Nazarene University pitcher Ethan Underwood earned All-America Honorable Mention honors. Underwood is the fifth Tiger to garner at least two All-America crowns and the first since 2005.
Underwood had a phenomenal season for the Tigers on the pitcher's mound. In 14 appearances, the Tiger right-hander went 10-2 with a 2.46 ERA, which is 23rd in the nation. With 10 wins this season, Ethan becomes the fifth Tiger to reach double-digit win totals in program history. In addition, Underwood tossed 84 innings, struck out 63 batters and only surrendered 15 walks. Underwood went the distance in six games and pitched a pair of shutouts.
Underwood adds this honor to a list of honors that include earning his second-straight CCAC Pitcher of the Year award and CCAC All-Conference first team. In the classroom, Underwood gathered CoSIDA Academic All-District honors as well.
