UNDERWOOD NAMED TO THE CoSIDA ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICA FIRST TEAM
BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced on Wednesday its selections for the Academic All-America for baseball. Olivet Nazarene University pitcher Ethan Underwood was selected to this prestigious honor. This marks the fourth straight season that a Tiger was selected for this honor. Underwood is the fourth different Tiger to be selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-America team.
Underwood had a phenomenal season for the Tigers on the pitcher's mound. In 14 appearances, the Tiger right-hander went 10-2 with a 2.46 ERA, which is 23rd in the nation. With 10 wins this season, Ethan becomes the fifth Tiger to reach double-digit win totals in program history. In addition, Underwood tossed 84 innings, struck out 63 batters and only surrendered 15 walks. Underwood went the distance in six games and pitched a pair of shutouts.
Underwood adds this honor to a list of honors that include earning his second-straight CCAC Pitcher of the Year award and CCAC All-Conference first team as well as earning the CoSIDA Academic All-District honor.
