STEIG NOTCHES CCAC BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK RECOGNITION
CHICAGO, Ill. – The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced Olivet Nazarene University's Taylor Steig (Corona, Calif.) as its Baseball Player of the Week for the seven-day period ending March 19.
Steig batted .400 with six runs batted in in a doubleheader sweep of Calumet College of St. Joseph on Sunday. Three of the sophomore first baseman's four hits went for extra bases including home runs in both games.
Steig went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and five batted in in the 16-6 first-game win. That was followed by a 1-for-5 game in the nightcap with his solo home run. He also stole a pair of bases.
Olivet Nazarene is the lone remaining unbeaten in league play (3-0), while being 13-11 overall.
