SIX TIGERS EARN ALL-CONFERENCE RECOGNITION FROM CCAC

CHICAGO, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene University baseball team had six players earn all-conference honors as the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) announced its postseason baseball awards.

Kai Hudson was named the conference's first-team shortstop for the second-straight year while Jack Dupuis, Taylor Steig, Ethan Underwood, Donovan Yelle, and Geon Yoon all earned second team all-CCAC honors.

Hudson led the club by batting .364 with a team-best 68 hits in 187 at-bats. The senior shortstop from St. Petersburg, Fla., who also earned first team all-CCAC honors last year, recorded six doubles, three triples, and blasted six home runs. Hudson led the Tigers with 53 runs scored and was second on the team with 31 RBIs. He also stole 10 bases on the year.

Dupuis set the tone for the team from the top of the order. The junior third baseman from Wheaton, Ill., batted .341 and held a team-leading .498 on-base percentage. He also drew a team-leading 35 walks on the year. Dupuis recorded nine doubles and was second on the team in runs scored and home runs hit with 43 and seven, respectively.

Steig earned second team all-CCAC honors for hitting .328 with 59 hits in 180 at-bats. The sophomore infielder from Corona, Calif., led the team in RBIs with 48, which is good for the third-best mark in the CCAC this season, and doubles with 16 while sending six home runs over the wall.

Underwood was the team's top pitcher, compiling a 5-4 record with a 6.22 earned run average. The Woodstock, Ga., senior averaged over 10 strikeouts per nine innings with 81 punchouts in 68 innings pitched, marking the most strikeouts he's ever thrown in a single season for the Tigers. Underwood also recorded a seven-inning no-hitter over Trinity International on April 7. This marks the third-straight all-conference recognition for Underwood.

Yelle earned a spot on the all-CCAC second team after hitting .306 with 55 hits in 180 plate appearances this year. The senior center fielder recorded 10 doubles and hit five home runs while notching 31 RBIs. He also stole eight bases.

Yoon served as the team's primary backstop and power hitter this season. The junior catcher from Seoul, South Korea belted out a team-leading eight home runs this season, good for third-most in the CCAC this season. Yoon also led the team with a .607 slugging percentage while roping in 30 RBIs on a .327 batting average.

ONU finished the year with a 24-26 record, including a 14-13 mark in conference play.
