Tigers Hit Century Mark in Third Straight Victory

ELGIN, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene University men's basketball team continued its lengthy road trip traveling to Judson University and grabbed the ,102-66, victory inside the Lindner Fitness Center on Saturday.

The Tigers get off to a 20-13 lead after nice shooting and paint play from its veterans. Senior John Contant (SR/Hickory Hills, Ill.) led the Tigers with six points during that stretch along with senior CJ Smith (SR/Cumming, Ga.) knocking down two three-pointers. With the Tigers leading 31-25, Smith, junior Alex Gross (JR/Hope, Ind.), and junior Cade Chitty (JR/White Heath, Ill.) sparked a 13-0 run moving the score to 44-25. Freshman Landon Pflederer (FR/Tremont, Ill.) marked four of the next six points for the Tigers to end the half. ONU took a 50-30 leading going into the locker room.

Halftime: Olivet Nazarene 50, Judson 30

After a sluggish start to the second half, the Tigers ignited a 9-0 run, highlighted by a three by Contant and field goals from Gross and Chitty. The Tigers led 61-34. ONU continued to pull away from the Eagles in the second half. At the score, 70-43, and after freshman Tyler Schmidt (FR/Valparaiso, Ind. ) hit a layup, Smith knocked down two more three's making the score 78-43. With six minutes to go in the contest, The Tigers still had the three-ball working with sophomore Barik Olden (SO/Groveland, Ill.) and Schmidt notching one each.

The Tigers hit the century mark for the second time this season as they go on to defeat Judson 102-66.
