SCHMIDT AWARDED CCAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) announced on Wednesday afternoon that they have selected Olivet Nazarene University guard Tyler Schmidt as their Player of the Week.  This is the first player of the week honor for Schmidt this season. 

Schmidt had a terrific week for the Tigers against Viterbo and Governors State.  Against Viterbo, the Valparaiso, Ind. native tied a career-high with 29 points and seven boards.  In that game, Schmidt also had six assists and went four-of-five from behind the arc.  Schmidt followed that up with 19 points, five boards, and six assists against Governors State.  Schmidt is averaging a team second-best 17.1 points a game and has grabbed 4.5 rebounds a game. 

The Tigers will be back to the hardcourt on Friday, December 17 and Saturday, December 18 as they play RV Southeastern and RV Florida College in Lakeland, Fla., respectively.  Both Friday and Saturday's contests start at noon CST.
