SCHMIDT REPEATS AS CCAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

CHICAGO, Ill. - After hitting the 20-point barrier two weeks ago, Olivet Nazarene University's Tyler Schmidt (Valparaiso, Ind.) reached the 30-point threshold last week to repeat as the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the seven-day period ending Nov. 20.  The league office made the announcement on Wednesday.

Schmidt averaged 30.0 points on 60 percent shooting from the field last week enabling the Tigers to get off to a 2-0 start in league play.  The junior guard also averaged 7.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists in the two games.

Schmidt rang up 31 points on 14-of-22 shooting in a 96-56 victory over St. Ambrose University last Wednesday.  In that same game, he recorded six rebounds, three assists and a pair of blocks.

Schmidt also led ONU in scoring three days later when he popped in 34 points on 13-of-23 shooting with eight rebounds and two assists in an 81-77 road win over Saint Xavier University

Having scored 20 or more points in five straight games, Schmidt's 25.3 scoring average on the season ranks first in the league and fifth in the nation.

Winners of five straight games, Olivet Nazarene is currently 6-1 overall and 3-0 in CCAC play.
