SCHMIDT COLLECTS HIS SIXTH CCAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK AWARD

CHICAGO, Ill. – Olivet Nazarene University's Tyler Schmidt (Valparaiso, Ind.) continued his season-long scoring frenzy during the seven-day period ending Feb. 12 to land his sixth Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week award, the league office announced on Wednesday.

Schmidt authored a career-high 35 points on 13-of-17 shooting from the field (.765 pct.) in a 100-67 victory over Judson University last Wednesday before delivering another 25 points in a 99-67 win versus Trinity Christian College on Saturday.  In the Judson matchup, the junior guard also produced eight rebounds, four assists, four steals and two blocks.  He added six caroms, five dishoffs, and two more blocks on Saturday.

For the two games combined, Schmidt averaged 30.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 2.0 blocks and 2.0 steals per contest.  He also remains the league's top scorer at 23.2 points per game.  That puts him fifth-best in the nation, as well.

With one week remaining in the regular season, Olivet Nazarene sits one game in back of front-running Roosevelt University in the conference.  The Tigers are 20-6 overall and 15-3 in league play.
