TIGERS TAKE PAIR OF RUNNER-UP TEAM FINISHES AT SPRING TIGER INVITE

ST. ANNE, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene University men's and women's golf teams hosted the Spring Tiger Invite at the Kankakee Elks Golf Course on Friday. Both teams collected runner-up finishes at the home meet.

Women's results

Only 12 strokes separated all five Tigers on the women's side. Alexandria Jones was the top scorer for ONU, firing an 87 to tie for sixth place. Mara Bakke carded a 91 to tie for 11th. Lydia Steier was one stroke back, shooting a 92 to place 13th. Emily Hayhurst and Faith Dalton rounded out the scoring for ONU with a 95 and 99, respectively.

The Tigers shot a 365 collectively to finish runner-up in the three-team tournament. Grace College took the team crown at 332.

Men's results

Lorenzo Mariotti, a freshman golfer from Italy, fired an even 72 to lead ONU and finish in a four-way tie for third place. Caleb Stinespring finished inside the top-10 with a ninth-place finish at 76. Jordan Evans carded a 77 to tie for 11th. Jack Busch and Jack Rimington placed 22nd and 40th, respectively, to round out the scoring for ONU.

ONU placed second out of the nine teams at the Spring Tiger Invite, shooting 305 as a team to finish runner-up. Parkland shot a one-over 289 to win the tournament.
