JASPER AND GIANNOTTA SWEEP WEEKLY PLAYER OF THE WEEK AWARDS

CHICAGO, Ill. - The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced that Olivet Nazarene University has swept the latest round of men's soccer weekly honors courtesy of the play of Max Jasper and Mike Giannotta during the period from Oct. 18-24.

Jasper earned his second CCAC Offensive Player of the Week honor this season after authoring both goals in a 2-1 victory over Lincoln College on Saturday.  Both goals came off free kicks for the junior midfielder, who placed both balls in the far side upper third of the net, including the game-winner in overtime.

Giannotta garnered CCAC Defensive Player of the Week recognition after holding two of the top teams in the league – Governors State University and Lincoln – to one goal each.  The junior goalkeeper stopped four shots in 110 minutes in a 1-1 tie with Governors State last Tuesday before making another six saves in nearly 97 minutes versus Lincoln on Saturday.

The win and tie kept Olivet Nazarene within one point of first-place Cardinal Stritch University with one week remaining in the regular season.  The Tigers are 11-3-1 overall and 8-2-1 in league play.

The Tigers go back on the road this week as they visit Holy Cross on Wednesday, Oct. 27 at 1 p.m. This is the last away match for ONU in the regular season. Please visit onutigers.com for the most up-to-date links for this contest.
