RV ONU POUNCE ON THE LYNX 3-1 TO REACH THE CCAC TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONSHIP

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The (RV) Olivet Nazarene men's soccer team advanced to the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Tournament Championship after a 3-1 victory over Lincoln College Wednesday night. The Tigers look to win their first CCAC double since the 2016 season. They will host the second-seeded Governors State Jaguars on Saturday.

Olivet Nazarene got off to a fast start scoring on their first shot of the night within the first ten minutes of the match. A well-constructed team move down the left side of the pitch eventually ended with Justin Eisenmann laying off a ball to Max Jasper for the first-time finish. Lincoln responded at the 21:36-minute mark as the ball found the head of a Lynx attacker at the far post for the finish. ONU proceeded to look to regain the lead with opportunities from Marten Imping and Jasper forcing the LC keeper into making saves. With only 22 seconds remaining in the half, the Lynx drew a foul inside the Tiger's defensive third of the field. Lincoln attacked the set-piece nodding the ball back across goal towards Mike Giannotta's left post. Giannotta went full-stretch with a strong right hand to keep the game level going into the break.

Max Jasper bridged his brace to take back the Tiger lead in the 67th minute of play. Ruben D'Hollosy drove a long ball from just inside the half-line to find Jasper streaking beyond the backline. His header nicked the near post before rippling the back of the net. With their season on the line, the Lynx sent numbers forward to find the equalizer for the second time. Lincoln came closest from set-piece plays but nothing could be directed on-frame. In the 84th minute, Alexis Mancera slipped his shot past the LC goaltender to effectively end the game. The assist was credited to Nick Kilian. Olivet stood firm for the remaining six minutes to see out the rest of the contest
