ONU MEN'S SWIM AND DIVE SEES EARLY SEASON SUCCESS AT THE SAINT AMBROSE QUAD

DAVENPORT, Iowa – The Olivet Nazarene University men's swim and dive team traveled to the Davenport Central Natatorium for a quad-meet against host Saint Ambrose, Midland, and Morningside on Friday night.

The Tigers kicked off the meet with a runner-up finish in the 200-yard medley relay.  The team of Nicholas Klenner, Alejandro Evreinoff-Salinas, Christian Mikrut, and Timothy Braun finished the race in 1:37.44. Mason Beall then was the next Tiger to finish as a runner-up as he raced in the 500-yard freestyle, clocking in a time of 4:59.07.  ONU then took second-place in the 200-yard freestyle relay.  The team of Braun, Demarcus Washington, Klenner, and Mikrut finished with a time of 1:29.17.  Klenner then was the first Tiger, of the meet, to win a race as he won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 52.38.  Freshmen Chase Aruskevicius finished third and Liam Kuiper finished fourth.

The Tigers finished with 441.5 points and settled for a third-place finish.  Host school Saint Ambrose finished on top of the team leaderboard with 1,013 points.

WHAT'S NEXT?

The Tigers are back to the pool on for the Bethel University (Ind.) Tournament on Saturday, October 30^th.  The first race will commence at noon Central Time.
