REYES AND MIKRUT GARNER KCAC SWIMMERS OF THE MONTH HONORS

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – Olivet Nazarene University swimmers Helina Reyes and Christian Mikrut were selected as the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) Swimmers of the Month as the organization made its selections on Tuesday.   This is both Reyes and Mikrut's first Swimmers of the Month honor this season. 

A native of Santiago, Dominican Republic, Reyes had a very strong month for the Tigers.  Reyes placed in first in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle as well as the 100-yard butterfly in the triangular against Davenport and Lewis back on January 15.  In that same meet, Reyes placed fourth in the 200-yard medley relay.  In the dual against Wheaton, Reyes turned in a similarly good performance.  In that dual, the Tiger senior swam to a first-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle, a second-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay, and a third-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly.

A native of Crown Point, Ind., Mikrut also had a strong month for the Tigers.  In the triangular against Davenport and Lewis, Mikrut placed first in the 100-yard butterfly and finished third in the 200-yard medley relay.  In the dual against Wheaton, the Tiger junior placed second in the 100 and 200-yard butterfly races and took third in the 200-yard medley and freestyle relays. 

The Tigers compete at the KCAC Conference Championships on Thursday, February 3rd through Saturday, February 5th.  Competition each of the three days starts at 9 a.m. Please visit onutigers.com for the meet information and live links.
