ONU SWIM & DIVE EARNS 17 KCAC SCHOLAR-ATHLETES

WICHITA, Kan. – The Olivet Nazarene University men's and women's swimming & diving teams were recognized for their performance in the classroom, with 17 Tigers being named Kansas Collegeiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) Scholar-Athletes. The league made the announcement Wednesday afternoon in conjunction with Barnes & Noble College.

ONU led the conference in scholar-athletes for women's swimming & diving with 11 honorees. Halle Briner, Lily Bruner, Abbie Christensen, Rachael DeVries, Kayla Deubel, Carley Logan, Emma Norman, Sara Norman, Ashley Parry, Allison Pearson, and Megan Schroeder were all named scholar-athletes by the KCAC.

Six Tigers from the men's team earned the distinction, good for the second-highest total on the men's side of the conference. The KCAC named Mason Beall, Timothy Braun, Andrew Coble, Connor Harrison, Nicholas Klenner, and Liam Kuiper scholar-athletes.

In order to qualify for the honor, a student-athlete mus be a sophomore or above in academic standing, carry a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at the institution.

The Tigers will be competing in the KCAC Conference Championships taking place February 2-4 at the Dillon Family Aquatics Center in Fremont, Neb.
