DOUBLES POINT NOT ENOUGH AS TIGERS FALL 5-2 TO FORESTERS

FLOSSMOOR, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene University men's tennis team continued their spring season with a match against Huntington Saturday afternoon. Despite picking up the doubles point, the Tigers struggled in the singles matches to fall 5-2 to the Foresters.

The Tigers started the match off strong by taking the doubles point. Carlo Cota Vargas, the reigning CCAC Player of the Week, teamed up with Carlos Gomez to take the No. 2 doubles match 7-6. Shaun Choubey and Paul Saleh then picked up a clean 6-0 win in the decisive third match to take the point.

The singles matches were a different story, however, as the Foresters picked up five of the six matches to take the win. Saleh picked up the lone win for ONU, besting Hungtington's Christian Rodriguez 7-6, 5-7, 10-8 in the No. 5 match.

WHAT'S NEXT?

The Tigers will open up conference play with a home match against St. Francis (Ill.) on Saturday, April 1 at Snowbarger Athletic Complex.
