TIGERS FALL TO HOLY CROSS 4-1 IN CCAC TOURNAMENT SEMIFINALS

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – A season that saw the Olivet Nazarene University men's tennis team post its most conference victories since the 2018-19 season came to a close as the Tigers fell at Holy Cross 4-1 in the semifinal round of the CCAC Tournament Thursday.

The match got out to a strong start as ONU picked up the doubles point. After Davi Toledo and Hector Romero fell in a tiebreaker in the top doubles match, Paul Saleh and Shaun Choubey gritted out a 7-6 tiebreaker win at No. 2. Brian Victor Ayala and Carlo Cota Vargas then downed the Saints 6-4 at No. 3 to lock up the doubles point. 

The Tigers couldn't match the energy in the singles matches. Holy Cross took the top three singles matches in straight sets before taking the match with a win at No. 5 singles. At No. 4 singles, Choubey had won the first set 6-1 before his match was stopped.

ONU finished the year with a 6-9 overall record and a 4-2 mark in conference duals. It was the most conference wins since the 2018-19 team went 6-1 in the CCAC.
