VALLANGEON NAMED NAIA MIDWEST REGION MEN’S ATHLETE OF THE YEAR

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Olivet Nazarene University's Taylor Vallangeon was named the NAIA Cross Country Midwest Region Men's Athlete of the Year, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.

Vallangeon, who hails from Columbus, Ohio, was recognized by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for his outstanding season. Vallangeon began the 2022 season with three-straight individual victories at the Lewis Early Bird, the Tiger Cross Country Invitational and the Bethel University XC Invitational.

He capped his stellar senior season with an individual title at the CCAC Championships in 25:06.5, the second of his career. Vallangeon will finish his season at the 2022 NAIA Cross Country Championships in Tallahassee, Fla. The meet will be held at Apalachee Regional Park.
