ONU GRABS ANOTHER CONFERENCE ROAD WIN

ONU GRABS ANOTHER CONFERENCE ROAD WIN

Deerfield, Ill. – The Tigers remain a strong team in conference play with this win against Trinity International. The Tigers had a sluggish start to this game, only scoring 15 points in the first quarter, but luckily they only faced a one-point deficit going into the second. The Tigers were the first to strike in the second quarter when Kennedy Johnson (SO/Romulus, Mich.) converted her first basket of the game. Johnson made her presence known in this quarter, scoring six of her eight total points, and dishing out two assists. On the receiving end of Johnson's playmaking ability was Caroline Boehne (SO/Hoffman, Ill.), who had an influential game, finishing with a career-high 15 points. Thanks to the production off the bench, the Tigers would go into halftime with a 41-34 lead.

Not satisfied with their lead, the Tigers would continue to go on the offensive. A three-pointer by Zanna Myers (SO/Monticello, Ill.) would start a 17 to four-run for the Tigers, that nearly lasted the entire third quarter. The run was capped off with a layup by Karina Smits (SO/Pewaukee, Wis.), who was one of six Tigers that finished with double digits in scoring. This was a pretty typical game for the Tigers, besides for the fact they only had 10 total steals. However, they made up for this with 21 offensive rebounds. The teams would trade blows throughout the fourth quarter, but prolific shooting by Smits, Myers, and Kayla Ross (SR/Elgin, Ill.) kept the opposing side at bay. When the final buzzer sounded, the Tigers would take home a 23-point win.
