CAREER NIGHT FOR STEJSKAL PROPELS TIGERS TO VICTORY

Notre Dame, Ind. – Tigers hit their stride in this win against Holy Cross College. After a frustrating loss over the weekend, the Tigers were able to find their form and get back to their up-tempo style of play. Defensively they were able to cause 32 turnovers, with 11 players logging at least one steal in this game. The defensive intensity would lead to 44 points in transition with point guards, Kayla Ross (SR/Elgin, Ill.) and Kennedy Johnson (SO/Romulus, Mich.), consistently finding open teammates. These two would account for 12 of the team's 19 assists.

Even though the defense played well, the story of the night was the offensive performance put on by Sammy Stejskal (SR/Arlington Heights, Ill.). The first bucket of the game for the Tigers was a three-pointer hit by Stejskal, and she would go on to hit seven more and finish with a career-high 37 points. With these totals, Stejskal would hit crucial shots in the third quarter when the lead was changing hands between the two teams. In support, Olivia Schmidt (SR/Eldridge, Iowa) would account for 10 points, including a three-pointer to take the lead in the pivotal third quarter, where the Tigers would amass an 18-point lead.

Closing out the game, the Tigers would maintain their lead with contributions from several members of their rotation. The forwards played particularly well at the end of the game, with Ashley Ford (JR/Illiopolis, Ill.), Caroline Boehne (SO/Hoffman, Ill.), and Kaitlyn Clark (SO/Orting, Wash.) all scoring in the final quarter, helping their team win by a score of 113-86.
