TIGERBALL TRIUMPHS IN BIG WIN AGAINST JUDSON

TIGERBALL TRIUMPHS IN BIG WIN AGAINST JUDSON

Bourbonnais, Ill. – The Tigers scored early and often in this contest against Judson University. Once again, the overbearing defense by the Tigers would prove to be too much for their opponent to handle. The Tigers would cause three turnovers and score 10 points before their opponents made their first basket. Getting involved early in this game was Bett O'Neal (FR/Bloomington, Ill.), who has been shooting with confidence lately. Tonight, she would score a career-high 12 points, besting her 8-point mark from their previous game against Calumet St. Joseph. O'neal shot an outstanding 80% from the field in this game, helping her team shoot over 45% from beyond the arc and 50% from the field.

Maggie Cora (FR/Lizton, Ind.) also brought support off the bench, scoring on a layup in the first quarter to give the Tigers an 11-point lead. Several key members would convert baskets in the second quarter to help the Tigers to extend their lead to 36 by halftime. Initiating the offensive burst was Kennedy Johnson (SO/Romulus, Mich.), who would tally five of her 12 total assists in just the second quarter.

The Tigers continued to shoot at a high percentage in the second half, with seven players scoring on a three-pointer in the third quarter. Among them was Sammy Stejskal (SR/Arlington Heights, Ill.) who would lead the Tiger with 18 points, as she continues to climb up the all-time scoring list. With the second-half fully underway, Kayla Ross (SR/Elgin, Ill.) would come to the forefront and lead her offense by assisting on three of the seven made three-pointers and scored nine of her own points in the half. When the game came to a close the Tigers would win by 74 points, marking the largest margin of victory for the team this season.
