ONU EARNS FIRST WIN OF THE YEAR OVER IU-NORTHWEST

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene women's soccer earns their first win of the year and are 1-0 to start conference play as the Tigers downed Indiana University Northwest RedHawks 7-0 at Snowbarger Saturday night. ONU as a team scored a season-high in goals scored in a single match.

The Tigers looked to control the tempo of the match from the kick-off and earned an early goal from Susanna Lindquist assisted by Emily Greene. Abbey Cash scored her first goal of the season to double the lead. Katie Knutte was credited with the assist. Olivet tallied 26 total shots and held the RedHawks to none for the first half. The Tigers held their first lead of the season going into the intermission.

Halftime: Olivet Nazarene 2, IU-Northwest 0

ONU kept their foot on the gas scoring five goals in the second period. Lindquist completed the hattrick for the Tigers scoring two more goals at the 51:49 and 86:02 marks of the second half. Katie Knutte doled out three assists in the match to go along with scoring a brace. Teagon Albert drew a penalty and then converted from the spot in the 48th minute for her first goal of the year. Olivet held a large advantage for a season-high 48 shots to the RedHawks' two for the contest.
