TIGERS WIN SECOND STRAIGHT OVERTIME MATCH

TIGERS WIN SECOND STRAIGHT OVERTIME MATCH

DEERFIELD, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene University women's soccer team travelled to Schartner Field for a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) contest against the Trinity International University Trojans on Saturday afternoon.

The Tigers broke through on the scoreboard first in the 24th minute.  Kaylee Evers scored her first goal of the season and took a 1-0 lead.  The rest of the half saw Tiger goalkeeper Samantha Tuuk face a flurry of Trojan shots.  The best opportunity for a Trojan goal came at the 35th minute when a shot went off the post.  Tuuk and the Tigers held a 1-0 lead going into the second half.

Camille Cote came out firing in the second half for the Tigers as she sent in the first shot, but it was saved by the TIU goalkeeper.  Just like the end of the first half, Tuuk faced a lot of pressure in the box as she made three saves in the early part of the half. Unfortunately, the Trojans finally put one past Tuuk as they marked a goal off a corner kick in the 69th minute. The two teams found themselves at 1-1 draw at the end of regulation a golden goal scenario in overtime.

The Tigers did not take up too much time in the overtime period as Teagon Albert scored the golden goal in the 92nd minute as the Tigers took down the Trojans, 2-1.
