LAKERS HAND ONU THEIR SECOND LOSS OF CCAC PLAY

Arlington Heights, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene women's soccer team fell to the Roosevelt Lakers 3-1 Saturday night on the road. The Tigers fall to 6-6-3 overall and 6-2-2 in CCAC play with the loss.

Roosevelt got off to a fast start netting the first two goals of the contest in the first 15 minutes of the game. The first goal came by way of a corner kick in the 10th minute of play to open the scoring. The Lakers doubled the advantage five minutes later with a shot that banked in off the crossbar. Alaina Bahr cut into the deficit at the 21:43 mark as she knocked the ball over the goal line off of a deflection. An Abbey Cash corner kick, an Olivia Lorenc shot attempt, and a Teagon Albert effort towards goal in the remaining minutes of the half was close but could not equalize the score before the break.

Halftime: Roosevelt 2, Olivet Nazarene 1

Olivet Nazarene continued their pursuit for an equalizer as the second half kicked off. Albert forced the Laker's netminder into making a save five minutes in. Marissa Anderson redirected a headed effort just over the crossbar in the 54th minute. Roosevelt took their opportunity at the 65:45 mark to regain their two-goal advantage and knock the momentum away from the Tigers. Late scoring chances in the remaining seven minutes of the match could not be converted as ONU searched for an answer. The Lakers stood firm and saw the game out to take the victory.
