ONU WOMEN'S SWIMMING OPENS 2021-22 SEASON DEFEATING LEWIS

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene University women's swim and dive team opened their season with a dual against NCAA Division II Lewis University on Saturday.  The Tigers took down the Flyers, 183-76. 

 

At the beginning of the dual, the Tigers took the first two spots in the 400-yard medley relay.  The first-place team featured Maylee Lingle, Megan Schroeder, Ashley Parry, and Allison Pearson.   Then, the Tigers took the first four places in the 200-yard freestyle.  Freshman Halle Briner finished on top followed by Kayla Deubel, Emma Norman, and Kylie Martin.  ONU then took the first three spots in the 100-breststroke featuring Pearson in first while Schroeder and Julia Vega took second and third.  Parry and Helina Reyes then finished first and second in the 50-freestyle. 

 

Parry kept up her very successful Tiger debut and finished on top of the podium in the 100-freestyle edging out fellow freshman Addison Daily and then won the 100-butterfly.  Schroeder then edged out Vega for first in the 50-breaststroke.  In the very next event, Logan placed first in the 500-freestyle outlasting Daily.  Then, Pearson, Vega, and Briner went first, second, and third place in the 200-IM. 

 

The Tigers finished out the dual placing first and second in the 400-yard freestyle relay as they take down Lewis, 183-76.

WHAT'S NEXT?

The Tigers travel to Davenport, Iowa to take on Saint Ambrose and Midland on Friday, October 8.  The time is yet to be determined.
