MARK LOGAN NAMED FULL-TIME SWIMMING & DIVING HEAD COACH

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – Mark Logan, who stepped in as the Olivet Nazarene University men's and women's swimming & diving interim head coach midway through last season, will take on the full-time head coach position for the two programs, effective immediately. ONU Athletic Director Justin Glennd made the announcement to the teams in late April.

"Stepping in as the interim head coach back in late October, I have been inspired by the resilience and determination of these remarkable swimmers," said Logan. "Witnessing their belief and excellence this season, it is a privilege to work with and guide this program towards greater achievements."

Behind Logan, the 2023-24 ONU men's and women's swimming & diving teams completed their third consecutive sweep of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships. The teams then went on to excel at the 2024 NAIA Championships, with the Tiger men notching an 11th-place overall finish and the ONU women scooping up a fourth-place finish behind individual national titles from Halle Briner (200 IM) and Kayla Parry (200 Fly).

"It is truly a testament to God's handiwork and perfect timing that has brought together an experienced coaching staff," said Logan. "With great humility, I am honored to lead and contribute to the legacy of ONU swimming & diving into the future."

Logan's teams also got it done in the classroom this year, earning 21 names on the NAIA Scholar-Athlete honor roll. Additionally, Briner was named a CSC First-Team Academic All-American while Mason Beall and Jack Fries earned the same honor on the men's side.

"Mark quickly made a positive impact after stepping in mid-season and eventually led both the men and women to successful conference and national showings," said Glenn. "Mark's knowledge of the sport and experience as a coach will be extremely valuable to the program, but his care for the student-athletes in and out of the pool is what I am most excited about as he leads each program to even greater heights."
