ONU DOWNED BY CARDINAL STRITCH IN THE CCAC WOMEN'S TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The Olivet Nazarene University women's tennis team fell in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Tournament Final, 4-2, to the Wolves of Cardinal Stritch University on Saturday. 

 

The Tigers got off to a good start as they won that critical doubles point.  The team of Nirva Patel and Chieh-Yu Chen won their match, 6-3, while the team of Narjis Mzibri and Heidi Moyo edged out a victory winning 7-6 (7-2 tiebreak).  The Tigers led 1-0. 

 

In singles' play, Mzibri proved to be the only winner for the Tigers as she won, 6-0, 6-2.  Chen was only other close match in singles as she fell in three sets, 1-6, 6-2, 1-6.  The Tigers dropped their first and only match of the year against a CCAC opponent, 4-2.

Congratulations to the Tigers on a great season and good luck to all of the seniors on their future endeavors.  The ONU women's tennis team placed first in the regular season in the CCAC with a 6-0 record.
